About GADS
GADS is a series of databases operated by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). In New England’s wholesale electricity markets, conventional generating facilities of 5 megawatts or greater are required to submit GADS event and performance data to 黑料网.
- The ISO uses GADS data to determine the generator’s Equivalent Forced Outage Rate on Demand (EFORd) for use in capacity planning and reliability studies.
- NERC uses GADS data to help study and improve the performance of electric generating equipment. The ISO can submit collected data to NERC on a generating facility’s behalf to help it satisfy NERC requirements, if designated as its delegated reporting entity. NERC compiles and reports on GADS data annually.
The ISO collects different types of data for GADS:
- Event data—records of changes in a unit’s operating status or capability that form a picture of its operational history
- Generation performance data—a unit’s actual generation, hours of operation, operational characteristics, fuel consumption, and fuel quality (percentages of ash, moisture, etc.)
