Project Overview

Project Implemented: July 11, 2017

A new user interface was added to the Customer and Asset Management System (CAMS) for use by lead market participants with generator assets in submitting asset characteristic data to the ISO’s Internal Market Monitor (IMM). Lead market participants of settlement only generators were not required to use this interface. The new IMMAC module replaced the previous process, which involved information submittals via email and manual data entry. The new IMMAC module:

• Provides better transparency, by enabling market participants to view the current values of their reference parameters on record with the IMM
• Reduces data errors and mitigation issues, by applying data validations and formats at the point of data entry
• Allows submittal of supporting documentation at the time of data change request
• Leverages existing CAMS generator asset data to avoid duplicate submittal requirements or inconsistencies between datasets
• Shortens the time from data submittals to data updates in the current system and eliminates manual documentation of every entry for audit purposes
• Simplifies the training required for IMM analysts to maintain asset characteristics, by eliminating the need to learn underlying database structures to use the application
• Allows for easier, faster upgrades and enhancements of the application in the future
